This place is great! We were in town for work and wanted something local and original. There was live music and the Thursday night football game was on the television. The service was great and the food delicious! It was a little pricey, but considering it was a bison burger topped with swiss cheese and hickory smoked duck bacon, it was well worth it!

Given the reputation of most restaurants in Los Alamos, I did not have high expectations for Pajarito Brewpub and Grill. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Inside, the decor and vibe of the restaurant is much nicer than one would guess from the outside. There were plenty of people there both times I went I went (around 12pm and 6pm), and the atmosphere was lively. The first time I visited I ordered the Green Chili Philly Cheesesteak, which was $12. It was a fantastic, with jalapeno strips and green chili that made combined for a flavor explosion of spicy, cheesy beef! There were also fries included, which were pretty good. Pajarito gets a 4 star rating however, because of the price. Although the food was great, the portion sizes were quite small. For $12 I expect to leave feeling full, but I was still kind of hungry walking out the door. The second time I visited I built my own burger with fries, which consisted of a beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and green chile for $14. The burger patty was quite thick and tasty, but a little dry considering I ordered it medium well. It was really good, but for $14 it didn't quite meet my expectations. If you work at LANL and can't find anything to spend your money on in this ghost town, Pajarito wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Like too many restaurants in Los Alamos, the owners aren't paying attention and the restaurant has gone down hill. The soups were never good and they've never been able to get a beer to the table in under 5 minutes. It's 50/50 if the tap water tastes okay or like bleach. But now it's worse. They can't mix drinks (didn't chill a martini, for example), the nachos come out soggy in a big pool of grease. The fettuccini is a in a soup of Alfredo and they have 20-30 beers on tap with no posted prices (and the prices are all different and the wait staff don't know how much they are. Options are few in LA, so they'll limp along for a few more years. But at some point they won't be able to pay the bills and they'll blame a failed business on construction or a new competitor or the landlord when really, they're just clueless about running a restaurant or stopped trying. What a shame....

I was very excited to find a brew pub in Los Alamos. However, they need a little work on making this a good restaurant. Pretty good selection of beer on tap and a menu that looked very good. I ordered a Bosque IPA, truffle fries as an appetizer, and a "build your own burger" (bison with blue cheese). The fries were served pretty cold and unappetizing. They tasted ok but nothing like truffle fries I've had elsewhere. The burger was also served in a pretty unappetizing manner, squashed down in a thin bun. It tasted alright, but definitely nothing I'd order again. The service left a bit to be desired- the waiter may just have been new as he seemed a bit unsure of himself. Also, the water they brought us when we arrived tasted really bad- like there was cleaner or chemicals in it.

So my wife and I went to see the fireworks show at white rock...decided to go to Los alamos for dinner and a drink. The only true restaurant we could find open was pajarito brew pub. We first approached the bar...and was greeted with a cold look from the tattooed and overly hair gelled tender there. Went out to the patio as it was a beautiful day...took almost 15 minutes before anyone approached us to find out if we needed drinks. Ordered a beer for myself and a soda for my wife. The waiter said he'd be right back to take our order...we saw him no less than half a dozen times take care of tables inside and twenty minutes later we decided maybe it would be best to sit at the bar inside so that we may be noticed by somebody. The tender was so busy talking and flirting with the group at the other end of the bar that he didn't even notice us sit. Yet....when a couple of obviously local folks sat almost right next to us...he came right to them without even a glance in our direction. We ended up just throwing $10 on the bar and told him thanks for the crappy service. We then headed across the street to the smith's grocery and bought a cheap chicken dinner for our dinner. Great job pajarito brew pub...you are the winner of the douchebag bar award!

Day trip to see the Manhattan Project museum. "Yelped" (it's a verb for us) and found this place. Happy with both beer and lunch which was a shrimp po'boy for him and chicken wings for me. The menu was varied and beer selections great. Nice find!
(4)Mickey C.
Had chicken fried steak. Mashed were good. CFS was thin enough to read a paper through! NO MEAT! 1/16th of an inch and the breading was thicker! Gravy should have been white gravy but they used a glutenous "fake" gravy that was horrible! Sliced squash was great! Other person had mac and cheeze which was palatible. Prices about 30% higher than comparable places. Don't waste your time. Find a burger king

Go to the grocery store, pickup a six pack and some fried chicken. It'll be better and cheaper than this place.

So I finally can actually get a review to display. Our experience a month and a half or so ago. Four of us, arrive at 7:15 Sat night. They are closing at 8 for a band, and I think no problem, beers and burgers 45 minutes should be fine. We order our beers, all is well. We get our burgers, and NOT GOOD. The bacon on my burger is so raw, it is not even tan, much less brown. The waitress is nowhere in sight, so we flag down a runner and he takes it back to get cooked more. He brings it back out, but it is still limp and raw! But as he just put it down and took off I just decided to leave it off. Keep in mind that everyone else is halfway through their burgers and we still have yet to see the waitress. So I bite into my (ordered medium) burger, and it is VERY VERY well done. Like no pink at all. (Perhaps they thought the raw bacon would average out with the charred burger?) . Finally the waitress comes and I explain to her about the raw bacon, and she is not even apologetic! and can I mention that it is about 8:10 now? Anyway, we get the check, and she is showing me how she took the bacon off, with an attitude of doing me a favor. So - I'll give it ten stars for their awesome beer selection, but negative 9 stars for the HORRIBLE dining experience. So one star. Good luck with this place if you go.

Food tastes pretty good but too expensive.

Given the lack of restaurants and bars in the small town of Los Alamos, New Mexico, I wanted to like this place. I really did. I've given the Pajarito Brewpub a second, fourth, sixth chance. Yet it is always disappointing. Between the overpriced, mediocre (at best) food and beer, mixed with the terrible service that takes upwards of 30 minutes to an hour for the waiter/waitress to visit your table, I would advise not to spend your money here.
(1)Jonathan T.
This is the best sit down restaurant in Los Alamos. The service, atmosphere, and food are all great. They clearly take pride in their establishment and have worked hard to make sure it's an excellent experience. The last time I was there I got the Bison burger and really enjoyed it. If you only have time to visit one restaurant in town then I highly recommend this one.
(5)LA F.
The food remains good, but the service is really slipping. I hope they get it together before they fall completely apart.
(3)Sarah B.
Good service just needed to "shout" for server. They listed every burger as a signature burger, really every single one? Live music added a soothing ambiance to the night, plus he played here comes the sun, a classic. Water was filled promptly. Server phased in and out of British accent throughout the night, which definitely added to pub atmosphere. Although it was thoroughly confusing. Sarah thought the pork sliders were too small, Dakota thought they were appropriately sized. The pork on the sliders tasted bizarre, but the coleslaw was pretty good. Overall not their best dish. Killer fettuccine Alfredo, shrimp on top were decent, added an unexpected spice. Appreciated the Australian-open-soccer-game or something, there were a lot of sport televisions. They calculated seemingly random amounts of tip on receipt for us. No thanks we now how. -Dakota and Sarah

The only possible save for this meal was the Ginger Ale. The food was really tame and bland, no flavor. I ordered the chicken tenders off the kids menu because quite honestly I figured there's no way to mess up that type of food. The tenders came out look pale and soft, no seasoning whatsoever. Their BBQ sauce is also lacking flavor, almost tasted like some sort of glaze or something. The waitress had an attitude when we asked to split our check and wanted to give a quick lecture of their check-splitting procedures here and how I didn't follow them. Lastly, the entire place is practically swarming with flies because they wanted to let the atmosphere inside I guess. Every few seconds we were squatting flies away. Overall... The place is a chaotic mess, staff, flies and food included...

I came here a few days ago and I must say there was a major improvement of the quality of food. We ordered the "Why Not? Pizza" which is always a favorite of ours and we were pleasantly surprised that it was even better than we remembered. Highly recommended to split with someone along with a side of truffle fries. The fries were definitely the best I've ever had! An employee mentioned that there are different cooks that are in on various days of the week and we happened to be there when the best one was working. He said the quality of food varies depending on who's working so that's something to consider when choosing to eat here. That being said, I've never had a blatantly awful dining experience here so I highly recommend this place to anyone.
(4)Thane S.
Food was OK, but the service was unbelievable. The server knew nothing about the beers they served??? I had to ask the bartender who did her best job to ignore me. She seemed to know more about the beers then the server did but it still took her over 20 minutes to finish dispensing my beer (she went on break before finishing). It took over an hour to get our food after ordering a couple sandwhiches. I dont get it, the pub was not busy???
(2)Brandt H.
The drinks can be a little pricey, but the food is amazeballs. The staff is extremely friendly! This place may honestly be the saving grace for Los Alamo's nightlife.
(4)J T.
Not very happy with service, and meals. The worst was customer service. Waiter made rude remarks, and was not pleasant. Will never eat there again... Would rather drive to SF!

Looking for a place for late lunch in LA. Surprised at so few choices. We even asked twice for recommendations in town. . Hearing none...we jumped at Pajarito Brewpub when we saw it. Wow. Great selection of brews and menu looked good. Oops....Server May have been new but very sweet, burnt food, cold truffle fries, and long wait. Maybe this place is good on a weeknight and for burgers but head down the hill after touring Bandelier and eat elsewhere. Need to take some time to train staff. Prices and beer good. Sounds like we should have ordered burgers....and checked yelp first.

Out of all the places that we have eaten here in in Los Alamos, this is by far the best food that we have had. I was surprised that its Yelp ratings were not hire. We had visited another restaurant earlier in the evening and were so disappointed in the food that we left hungry and unsatisfied. We came down to Pajarito Brewpub to get a beer and some munchies and were wishing that we would have come here for dinner. the beer selection is great with a lot of local and western beers from small brewers. The selection was great. We tried the Santa Fe Brewing Happy Camper and a seasonal pilsner from the same brewery. Both of them were great. The pilsner was excellent; light, crisp and smooth. The IPA was hoppy with undertones of citrus and a crisp bite to it. We ended up ordering more food. We ordered fish and chips ($10.00) and a grilled cheese ($7.00). The fish and chips were done in a beer batter and were your traditional fish. The fish was not very greasy and had lots of delicious crunchies on them. The fries were small shoestring fires and were also very tasty. The fish was also served with nice coleslaw to round it out. The grilled cheese was made with three different cheeses and pesto sauce. It comes on marbled rye regularly, but you can ask to substitute breads, which we did for a nice sour dough variety. The grilled cheese also came with shoestring fries. We enjoyed our second meal of the night much more than the first. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.

Saturday night waling around old town Los Alamos and this is the only place I can find open. It's clean and modern with a nice outdoor patio. I had the salmon burger which was very good as were the cocktails. However the service earned this place another star. The bartenders were fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. The menu is varied with a build your own burgers (including buffalo). I will be back here again.

First timer yesterday - Place was packed with football fans but we were seated immediately. We had: Calamari steak appetizer - this was great quality - not chewy, and in was fried in panko which is not easy to cook enough but not burn- they did a great job- $8 for 5 pieces + generous portion= get this again Mac n Cheese- very good, the truffle drizzle is a nice touch.- generous portion, good for what it is...comfort food. I would try something else on the menu before having this again, just 'cause I like to try new things. This is a good fallback dish. Guiness pie- plenty of food, some other reviews said this was not a large portion but my husband is 6'2" 180 lbs and said it was enough food for one person. two pints and two glasses of a nice new zealand Sauv Blanc (thank you for remembering us wine drinkers who married beer drinkers!). Interesting selection of beers by the bottle too. Service was great, noon on Sunday is a good time to go I guess 'cause we had the full attention of our server, the manager stopped by with drinks specials, the backwaiter pulled my dishes quickly , etc - We did not feel pressured to leave, our food was timed correctly- good experience all in all Total bill just under $50 before tip-

Though it is a great concept for Los Alamos, the food is overpriced with very small portions and is "just okay." I have been twice and service was horrible both times. They seem to have hired all of the mediocre wait staff from the old Central Avenue Grill, which puts them at a disadvantage from the start. The host insisted on reserving the bar seats for those in line, which is silly (who goes to a restaurant with a group and wants to eat at the bar?) and led to lots of confusion. At most bar/restaurants you can go in and get a drink while you are waiting for table, but that concept seemed to greatly confuse the host, and at one point I witnessed him ask people at the bar to get up and go stand by the door so others in line could sit at the bar. What?? We also witnessed a party get up and leave after sitting at their table for over and hour and not getting their food. In order to be fully fed in a meal you will have to order an appetizer and a meal - otherwise you will walk out still hungry. Maybe this is their plan to sell more food??? $12 for a small fish and chips, $12 for a 4 oz (maybe) shepards pie, or over $15 for a burger is crazy. Hopefully they get some better waiters, reduce their food prices, and up their portion sizes so they will stay in business.

I've been here a handful of times since I got to Los Alamos and I'm always a little disappointed. Unfortunately, their hours give them a monopoly on late evening dining. The bottom lines is that the food is overpriced, it's not open late enough for an establishment of its type, and the service is very hit-and-miss. For context, I've had the brewpub nachos (acceptable, but not worth the cost), the truffle fries (acceptably priced and reasonably tasty), the fettuccini alfredo (soupy but filling, a bit overpriced), and a make your own burger (acceptable but definitely not worth the cost). It is worth noting that they didn't have a very good handle on their beer selection. What was available seemed to vary quite a bit from night to night. I don't drink, but this was a little bit of annoyance to the people I came with. I will probably trudge through a few more visits before I leave in July because they really do have a monopoly on late night, but I will be trying my best to minimize what money I do spend. I would give them 2 stars in a bigger town/city, but I guess this is the best thing around without driving 45 minutes to Santa Fe and I would like to mention that the bartenders seemed relatively friendly, though.
(3)Andrew G.
Aside from the truffle fries and wings, which are decent, I've not had good food here. It represents everything wrong with "dining" in Los Alamos - overpriced, slow, and bland (occasionally even unpalatable). I've tried over a dozen things on the menu (being dragged here by friends and family) and can't find anything else good, aside from those two sides/appetizers. I'm not a picky eater, I just like food with flavor (or that isn't burned / dry / hard / old / etc). At least the waitstaff/bartenders are friendly and the presentation looks nice (though that doesn't matter if it tastes terrible).
(2)Robert K.
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I grew up in Los Alamos, and the local in town eateries have always been questionable. This place has it all. Great atmosphere, food, service, and CRAFT BEER! The prices are also quite decent as well. If I ever go back to visit, I will definitely drop by.
(4)Bryan V.
Thank goodness I'm on a per diem! I am not opposed to paying $16 for a burger. It just needs to be unique, exceptional, something I couldn't reproduce myself with barely any effort. So I ordered the $16 Pajarito Burger with high hopes. But it came back with crumbly texture, cooked medium-well (ordered medium-rare), absolutely no memorable qualities. I'd pay eight bucks for this burger on a generous day. For comparison the best "expensive froofy" burgers I've ever had were at Kuma's Corner ( kumascorner.com/wp-conte… ) in Chicago and Plan Check ( plancheck.com/menu.html ) in Los Angeles. ANY of those burgers are in a wholly different league than this Pajarito Burger, but NONE of them cost as much. I'm pretty sure their rents are higher. So what on earth do they think they are charging for here?
(2)Sam R.
Awesome spot. I had the Pajarito Burger and it was a real treat. This is just the kind of spot Los Alamos needs on a snowy night
(4)Rebel Y.
It's a sports bar. The food ranges from acceptable to very good. It's probably the best place in Los Alamos for socializing after work or watching a game (or three) with friends. The staff/owners are very solicitous of children, so it's comfortable to take our toddler there before or after a trip to the park. Servers humor a small child who wants to place his own order, and were very kind to us when our little one fell asleep on one side of the booth and took his nap during a Broncos game. The service often leaves me feeling neglected, so it's not a place I go when I'm in any hurry. But visit this place at an off time when it's kind of quiet, for a glass of wine or beer and the appetizer plate of pate and cheeses with a small loaf of crusty bread? Heaven. With free Wi-Fi.
(4)Anthony B.
If you willing to wait an hour for a mediocre meal this place is for you. Our salmon sandwich and bison burger were over cooked the Caesar salad was bland on the bright side the fries were good.
(2)Jeremy R.
This restaurant was out of the first two things I wanted to order and the meal I did get was hardly edible. This was after going almost all day without eating, so you know it was terrible. Never eat here!
(1)Gary P.
Really didn't like my Pajarito grill experience. I hate to give anyone such a low rating but I was served a different dish than what I ordered. I flagged down a waiter and instead of offering to fix the mistake he just gave me a speech about how I would like what I was served better than what I ordered. Ended up spending 45 bucks for a meal that I didn't order. What they served was over cooked riblets called "pork wings". I had to repost this- someone deleted the previous review so I'll keep checking back. I will probably try them again- seems like everyone likes the burgers but for the pork wings experience the 1 star stands. Management needs to train the waiters/servers about Custer service!
(1)Fine Diner H.
I am in awe of the pretentiousness here. OMG! Really? $15 for a burger with green chile and cheese, and any extras (fries, slaw, etc.) are extra too. There is an amazing selection of beers, in bottles and on tap, but alas, I don't drink much beer. We arrived and were seated at the bar, where the barkeep tossed menus at us then walked away, after 10 minutes of perusal, she returned, asked how we were, and walked away again. We were hungry and thirsty. Water? Tea? Anything? After 5 more minutes we left, walked across the parking lot, and were promptly greeted and fed lunch... at one of PB&G's competitors. ADIOS!
(2)L Y.
Wait forever. Wait 10 min to get seated. Then wait 15 min to get the waiter's attention. And then wait 40 min to get the salad done...
(2)Adrian B.
Don't let the Blockbuster-like front façade turn you off to this place; enter, and you shall be awed! The Pajarito Brew Pub is in class of its own in Los Alamos; mind you, this might not be so hard, considering that it's the only place that is open after 8:00pm. You will be surprised with a very well done, fresh, modern, chic, but casual looking place when you enter. This alone sets it apart from just about everything else in this town, which frankly has a bit of a patina to it. I went there three times in a week, mostly because the food was great and the beer selection is vast, with some nice microbrews from the Rockies, New Mexico, Oregon, and of course California. On my nights there, I had the steak salad, the LANL burger, and the Pajarito Burger. The Pajarito Burger was awesome: perfectly made meat (cooked to the requested temp), duck bacon, peach ketchup (normally not something that would tickle me), and cheese. And, above all, the Ciabatta bun was a great touch. Cheap bread just ruins a burger for me, and this was spot-on for this specific burger. OK, $16 may be a bit much for this, but I'll gladly pay it for just the fact that I can get a burger with Duck bacon in the middle of the New Mexico desert. The LANL burger, a pork & beef mix, was also excellent, since the paddy had some spice to it. Again, well-done, and cooked to temperature. The steak salad was also very nicely done: enough meat, very fresh lettuce, and a non-gloppy light but tasty dressing. I sat at the bar twice and took a table with colleagues the third time, and the service was pretty solid every time. Especially the bar tenders seem to enjoy their job. They know their beers, give good input, and will give you tasters to make sure you get what you want. So, compared to literally everywhere else in town, this place combines a young playful attitude with the innovation of a gastropub. It's a great place for people of all ages to go have a drink, eat dinner and hang out. On any game day, beware, the place will be absolutely packed, and the waits can be atrocious. Other nights, though, you can pretty much walk in and get a table.
(5)Anne L.
For Los Alamos, this is as good as it gets! The atmosphere alone is amazing, partly because it is the only completely new place in Los Alamos! It is GREAT! You don't even feel like you're in Los Alamos. The food is always good. The bar is great. It's the only place in Los Alamos that is always open . Plus, they are very gluten-free friendly. They have many gluten-free options, including their new cute little gluten-free sliders. And they also have gluten free beer! One time months ago, we had an amazing server, Natalie. Now, we always ask for Natalie and she never fails to take great care of us. Our very picky friends even ask for Natalie whenever they come in. And the prices are very normal for Los Alamos. More than McDonald's, but not more than any of the other nicer places in town. And you know you'll always get good food and good service, especially if you ask for Natalie :)
(5)Jo L.
Tasty food and enjoyed the Parmesan Fries. Not a whole lot going on in Los Alamos, but the food was fresh and wait staff attentive.
(4)W P.
Good place for appetizers, and the best selection of on-tap brew in Los Alamos. The truffle fries are wonderful. We've always been there briefly, only for drinks and snacks, and only when Chuck was the chef. We've always had some issues with the wait staff--getting the wrong orders and not getting much attention. We always chocked this up to this being a new business and to being there during extremely busy peak hours. They were always very apologetic when mistakes were made. The bar tenders have always been great. However, last weekend, we went when it wasn't too busy, ready to try a full meal and hoping for a pleasant dinner experience. It didn't happen. We spent most of the night trying to get our waitress' attention. This would be fine if she were busy, but much of the time, we saw her standing in the doorway to the kitchen, just gazing around. When we did have her attention, she brought us the wrong orders. (She blamed the other workers, saying they were new, even though we'd seen them there months ago.) We had to get silverware from another waiter. We had to get our own drinks from the bar. And the food, when it came, was cold (cold fries, cold burger, cold fish--ew) yet, ironically, slightly overcooked. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe the waitress herself was new and was embarrassed to admit it. Maybe the chef was new. Whatever the reason, we were disappointed. Overall, if you're going for a short time--for on-tap beer and a quick appetizer at the bar--you'll probably have a five-star experience. If you're going for a nice meal out, be prepared for a one-star night.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for Lunch. There were plenty of seats available and we were seated promptly. The lunch selection isn't huge, but there is a variety of food available. it's not real "pub" food but they have the token bangers and mash. They have a selection of nice appetizers including a delicious Mediterranean Flatbread pizza that we got as one of our entrees. We also ordered the macaroni and cheese and it was ok but not super special. If you are looking to fill that comfort food void it's a good choice. They also have a build-your-own-burger option which I haven't tried. I liked the food and will go there again. It had enough vegetarian options that my boyfriend and i didn't feel deprived. The service exceeded expectations taking into consideration the HORRIBLE service that comes standard in Los Alamos. Our server was polite and friendly. He fixed an order issue that was our fault and our water glasses were never empty. When he was busy, another server brought out our appetizer to make sure we had it quickly. The only downside is the type of space. The place is very loud so people who are celebrating touchdowns are VERY disturbing. If you sit against the back wall you can hear the kitchen noises as well. I would go there to be rowdy and watch the game, but not to chat with my boyfriend if a game is on. That's the one star deduction. Extra Bonus: All the TV's are labeled with the games that will be playing on them! You can use the information to know where to sit and get a view of your team! This is great since it's one of the only non-smoking places to watch games in the area (including Espanola and Pojaque). I'm a fan becasue of this and I'll be watching the next Raven's game there!

Went in here on a Saturday for a family lunch, only one other table seated in the place. We were seated and orders taken relatively quickly, but all downhill from there. Cokes were flat. Waiter couldn't be bothered to check on us. Now for the food, two of us had the irish dip. For the price, so very little meat on the sandwich, couldn't even detect the aioli. The au jus was very watery. The onion rings were the highlight of the meal. Portions were small for the price for everyone. The worst part however, were the flies. They had the outside patio doors open and the flies were all over us. REALLY disgusting. We won't be going back any time soon.
(1)Enrique M.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Paid $15 for their steak / salad plate. It was 2 middle finger sized pieces of tasty flank steak on a small bed of baby greens with a tomato cut into 8 giant pieces. Waiter forgot the dressing and had to be asked to bring it. First thought at seeing the plate was "THATS an entree?" IMPO it was more like a $8-$9 salad. It was tasty but needed 2x the amount of greens and more steak to warrant $15. Waiter forgot to bring me my change and said "Sorry" several times. When people at work say they want to come here for lunch again my vote will be no.
(2)Kimberly D.
Solid A-Okay. Popular joint, lots of TV, decent food. I really recommend the truffle fries, sincerely and truly. You could just go for those and the multitudes of beer on tap. I had a burger, you may want to try something more specialized since they probably do well with that. The fish and chips got the "thumbs up" from the boyfriend.

My family and I went there over the weekend and had the worst experience since moving to Los Alamos, which says a lot since Los Alamos isn't known for it's hospitality. This restaurant considers itself family friendly yet based on the actions and remarks by the hostess (partner/co-owner) families are clearly not welcome here. We asked for a table for 4 adults and 1 highchair for my 22 month old son. The hostess sat us and walked away, we assumed she went to get the highchair. That wasn't the case. A few minutes past and my wife asked for the hostess for a highchair and was told to "sit our kid on a chair, lean him against the wall and make sure he doesn't fall off." I walked in late and noticed there was no highchair, unaware of the previous conversation I asked the hostess for a highchair and she simply lost it. She informed me, as well as the rest of the restaurant as she yelled, "we just opened and you cannot expect us to provide everything. If you don't like it than leave, we don't want your business." At that point the owner came up and informed me that by law they don't have to provide children's seating and have no plans on doing so. Unfortunately for Los Alamos this is the hospitality that is expected by most patrons who live here. This poor hospitality is also the reason most restaurants up here don't stay open very long. What's concerning though is this conversation took place with a partner/co-owner, someone you'd think would go out of their way to accommodate their customers. On a positive note, our waiter offered to go to his car and grab a portable booster seat that would fit our son. At that point we had already decided to leave and not support this business who's owners don't really seem to care about their customers.

This is a good place for a social outing, probably the best social atmosphere in Los Alamos currently. The food is good, the place is suffering its own success currently. Be prepared to wait... Not recommended for a quiet dinner, great for friends to get together and be loud.

Definitely has the best evening atmosphere in Los Alamos, however there is very little competition. Service has been very slow, but if your not in a hurry that's ok. Food is a little overpriced and the quality is only so-so. My wife got a pasta dish that was undercooked and I tried the bangers and mash, which was ok but lacked personality. We have been several times now and just stick to drinks and appetizers. The Mediterranean Nachos are pretty good.

Service was abysmal on election night. Overzealous host would not let customers join their waiting parties at the bar and struggled to explain his prohibitive exclamations to puzzled customers. Seven out of nine beers ordered were sold out or otherwise unavailable, and when bottled brew was ordered, glasses were forgotten and bottles so agitated that foam overflowed onto the table, wasting much of the beer. Both the bartender and the server made errors totaling tabs. Price point is too high, even for Los Alamos (a $16 buffalo burger is Boulder, CO fare). The food, however, was tasty and the green chile on the burgers was nice and hot.

I must agree with the other Yelpers about the prices being too high. We dropped by for lunch @ 1pm on a Saturday and there were about 8 people standing by the door, waiting for tables. A waitress said there were seats available at the bar so we opted for that. Looking around, there were 4 tables that needed to be bussed, and in the entirety of our lunch, there were always a few people standing by the entrance waiting to be seated. As for a $30 lunch, wet or dry wings are $1 each, and the dry wings were dry, inside and out. Really. The vinaigrette salad dressing is oddly different but tasty. Pub fare Fish and Chips were excessively greasy, and the truffle oil on the fries was overwhelming. Some seasoning in the meals caused us to 'burp it back' for the rest of the afternoon (not good). I wish the place were bigger, and will go back and try another meal, but they need more time to finish working out the kinks.

So the thing with Los Alamos is... Everything is silly expensive. Especially dining out. Once you get that on the table, then you can move forward, and learn to appreciate paying $16 for burger. My mom and I stopped by on a Saturday to have a drink and an appetizer, and they were in the process of closing- at 6:30 pm- for a ticketed concert. Luckily, the doorman told us we could come in, but only if we promised to wrap it up by 8 pm. No problem there. We had a couple glasses of pinot grigio, which were about $7 a piece, and a plate of Mediterranean nachos, which were $9. The nachos were really good, but bless their little hearts, there were 9 chips. I didn't complain, because I am supposed to be on a diet anyways, but it was all a bit wah-wah. Well, like I said, they were delicious and had pancetta all over them, so I had my 4.5 chips and got my little butt on out f there by 8 pm as directed.

I want to love this place, I really do, but I can't quite get there. The food is expensive and the quality and portion sizes don't warrant it. It's great that there are so many choices for drinks in Los Alamos because you can't get that anywhere else. The best thing it has going for it, though, is the clientele. The patrons keep it busy every day so if you want to socialize, it's the place to go. The wait staff is okay. Some are friendly, some not so much. Truly, it's the management that make it hard for me to find any loyalty for the place. On more than one occasion, I've gotten the message that my business is of no importance to them. That's generally when I leave. I'll keep going there if that's where my friends want to go, but it will never be my first choice.

I've been here three times this summer and no experience has been great. The first time, finding someone to put us on the wait list to get a table was a near impossibility for about ten minutes. After that, we were seated and everything went smoothly. The only other downside was that the seats on the outdoor patio are really uncomfortable. May just be my opinion, however. By far the best experience. The second time, I arrived to meet friends that had already been seated. I asked the waitress for a beer list but it never came. I then asked her for a recommendation for a beer and she just looked at me with a blank stare. Off nights happen I guess. The third time was a disaster. We ordered our food and it took about an hour and fifteen minutes (!) to arrive. Our waitress went AWOL at least half of that time. She eventually showed up and both she and a manager were apologetic, but there is no excuse for neglecting a table for that long. We received a discount on the final bill and and two free beers, but it was a pretty unpleasant experience overall. Honestly, it saddens me to write such a negative review. Having grown up in Los Alamos and later moved to a big city, I know the town needs a place like this. Outside of Pajarito and Blue Window, and maybe the Pyramid Cafe, the dining options are really slim, especially for a town with so much disposable income. However, there always seems to be a line for tables at this place, so they may have realized they are one of the only options in town and have let service slide. If you don't mind driving 30 miles out of town, just go to Santa Fe. There are so many similarly priced options with just as good or better food and much better service. You will be glad you made the drive.

Been there a couple of times, usually for a hamburger and fries at lunch. Pretty expensive ($12) for the small hamburger you get, also two times I asked for medium rare and both times really over cooked. Thought about sending it back but was pressed for time. Blue Window has much better burgers for same price.. Nice atmosphere but food expensive. Probably won't be going back, at least for burgers and fries. Hopefully they will get their act together as Los Alamos needs a place like this....

With so few good dining options in L.A. I am shocked that this place has so few stars! Name another place in town where you can drink a premium brew, eat from a fresh and creative menu, and watch the game on Sunday afternoon. I will admit when I have eaten there a few things have come out of sequence but as the pub trains and tries out servers, this is to be expected in any new establishment, especially a mom and pop without corporate training manuals a-la Cheesecake Factory. Our food has been top notch here, and I am really dissapointed reviews are anything but stellar considering this is a new and exciting addition to sleepy Los Alamos. The owners have been fine business people for the town, running this place and the North Road Inn, keeping customers happy while dealing with L.A. red-tape. I loved the spinach cheese dip with sun dried tomatoes. I say bravo to this new eatery, Cheers!
